| Introduction |
|
VLSI Standards, Inc. was founded in 1984 in Mountain View, California for
the purpose of developing measurement standards and associated services for
the semiconductor and metrology related industries. VLSI Standards' first
products were a NIST traceable Step Height Standard, and a line of Contamination
Standards. Today, in our class I fabrication facility, along with offices in
the US and Japan, VLSI Standards provides dozens of standards, products,
and services to address every aspect of instrument calibration in the
semiconductor and other industries requiring precise metrology. As always, we
will continue the tradition of partnership with our customers for developing
the most useful and innovative products possible.

At VLSI Standards, we have talented and diverse personnel who bring with
them the highest level of scientific backgrounds and competent methodologies.
Our scientists have earned numerous patents, developed innovative methods
for correlating measurement results between different metrology instruments,
and established measurement techniques in important areas such as Dimensional
Standards. We are active participants in the development of industry roadmaps
and the calibration standards to support the metrology needs of evolving
technologies. Additionally, we value our partnership with NIST in new
standards development as reflected in past, present, and future Cooperative
Research and Development Agreements (CRADA).

Developing a positive partnership and collaboration with our customers is
our approach to the science and business of making standards. Our Scientists
and Product Managers routinely work directly with customers to provide calibration
solutions. For example, customer collaboration directly resulted in the creation
of the Reticle Contamination Standard.

recleaning / recertification service, and a commitment to provide advice for
product application and use. Even before you purchase a product, our worldwide
sales representatives will work with you to determine exactly what types of
products or services best meet your calibration or measurement needs.
