Confirming Order Details with Your Sales Representative
Confirm all the product information regarding your purchase with a representative prior to placing an order. This is especially important if we are working with you to provide custom products or services.
Things to check include:
  • Model number
  • Price
  • Delivery or product lead time
  • Correct product application
  • Shipping requirements
Standard Delivery Information
Common Carriers:

VLSI Standards utilizes most common carriers (Federal Express, UPS, Airborne, DHL, etc.), however, we will ship via the transportation company that is listed on your purchase order. If you do not list a carrier or you list "best way" or "common carrier", VLSI Standards will use the least expensive mode of transportation (typically, UPS Ground Service).

Standard Delivery Time - New Products (IMPORTANT)

VLSI Standards prides itself in delivering all of our high quality products on time in regards to our committed delivery schedule to our customers. Please remember that VLSI Standards makes all of its products to order to ensure you'll receive your NIST traceable standard with the very latest certificate date possible. This in turn, increases the potential recertification interval for the standard. If you know of a future requirement for our products or have an ISO audit in the near future, please make sure you allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.

Standard Delivery Time - Recertification

Please see the Recertification Calendar for the dates that calibration products need to be at the factory for recertification.

Delivery Scheduling for Customers Using Credit Cards

VLSI Standards supports those companies that are striving to be "paperless" workplaces. We proudly accept VISA and MasterCard at VLSI Standards. The standard delivery of 6-8 weeks will apply to these orders as well. However, your credit card will not be charged until VLSI Standards is ready to ship the products. Any difficulty in processing your credit card may cause a delay in the shipment of your goods. IMPORTANT: VLSI Standards will assume that a later rescheduling of the customer's committed ship date is acceptable should there be any credit card processing difficulties. VLSI Standards will not be responsible for any problems caused by delays in shipments due to credit card processing difficulties.

Transit Insurance

Did you know that if the package containing your standards is dropped resulting in damaged or broken items, most freight carriers will only cover the contents up to $50? Since standards are much more valuable than that, VLSI Standards is now offering it’s own low cost transit insurance. For a nominal fee, we will insure that your standards arrive at your facility ready to use.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Add the transit insurance to your purchase order at a rate of $1.00 per one hundred dollars of coverage. For example, you would add $12 as a line item onto the purchase order to insure a standard that sells for $1200.
  2. Inspect the contents of your package as soon as it arrives.
  3. Immediately call VLSI Standards’ Customer Support Center at 800-228-8574 ext. 108 if your standard has been damaged or broken. In order to process your claim, we will need the model and serial number of the damaged standard, your name, your company’s name, the original purchase order number and any special instructions for sending the replacement.
  4. Return the damaged goods to VLSI Standards freight collect once an RMA# is issued. A replacement standard will be sent 20 days (or sooner) from receipt of the damaged standard at our facility. Replacement standards will be the same model number and nominal value as specified on the original purchase order. No cash refund or credits will be issued.
  5. Report all claims within 5 working days of receipt at customer dock. Only breakage or damage that occurs during transit is insured. All other issues will be handled in accordance with our Warranty procedures.

While every effort is made to secure standards through packing materials, it is nearly impossible to fully guard against all possible catastrophes. VLSI Standards strongly recommends protecting your investment by taking advantage of this low cost insurance.

Restocking
VLSI takes extra strides in ensuring our customers purchase the correct items for their intended application. Any products that are returned to VLSI Standards, which are not covered by our warranty policy, shall be subject to a 40% restocking fee. This is due to the critical nature of our products and the fact that all returned products must be recleaned and recertified prior to being reinstated into active inventory. Please make sure you are purchasing the correct item for your intended purpose during the sales process.
