> Transit Insurance
Did you know that if the package containing your standards is dropped resulting in damaged or broken items, most freight carriers will only cover the contents up to $50? Since standards are much more valuable than that, VLSI Standards is now offering it’s own low cost transit insurance. For a nominal fee, we will insure that your standards arrive at your facility ready to use.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Add the transit insurance to your purchase order at a rate of $1.00 per one hundred dollars of coverage. For example, you would add $12 as a line item onto the purchase order to insure a standard that sells for $1200.
  2. Inspect the contents of your package as soon as it arrives.
  3. Immediately call VLSI Standards’ Customer Support Center at 800-228-8574 ext. 108 if your standard has been damaged or broken. In order to process your claim, we will need the model and serial number of the damaged standard, your name, your company’s name, the original purchase order number and any special instructions for sending the replacement.
  4. Return the damaged goods to VLSI Standards freight collect once an RMA# is issued. A replacement standard will be sent 20 days (or sooner) from receipt of the damaged standard at our facility. Replacement standards will be the same model number and nominal value as specified on the original purchase order. No cash refund or credits will be issued.
  5. Report all claims within 5 working days of receipt at customer dock. Only breakage or damage that occurs during transit is insured. All other issues will be handled in accordance with our Warranty procedures.

While every effort is made to secure standards through packing materials, it is nearly impossible to fully guard against all possible catastrophes. VLSI Standards strongly recommends protecting your investment by taking advantage of this low cost insurance.
